Hotel of the week
Hotel Santa Caterina
When I first stayed at Hotel Santa Caterina, I couldn’t decide what charmed me most, said Shivani Vora in The New York Times. “Was it the clifftop setting with dramatic views of the Mediterranean? The cascading gardens full of bougainvillea?” The Gambardella family has run the place since 1904, and their warmth makes the most lasting impression. Even though my husband and I have stayed at their 66-room property only twice, “I feel like part of a family,” and I can always count on returning to find a “luxurious but homey” room and aperitifs on the beach.
