It must be true…
I read it in the tabloids
A Utah mom gave her 6-year-old daughter her Amazon password to order a single Barbie as a reward for doing extra chores, and was chagrined a few days later to see a delivery truck deposit a large pile of dozens of Barbies and other toys on her front steps. Catherine Lunt said she didn’t realize that her daughter, Katelyn, had gone on a shopping spree with the password until it was too late. “The truck pulls up, and all these boxes are being pulled out of the truck,” Catherine said. She is donating the toys to a local children’s hospital.
A pet parrot stranded on a roof greeted British firefighters who came to its rescue by berating them with a burst of F-bombs. Jessie the Macaw’s owner called emergency services after the bird escaped its cage and spent three days perched on a house roof in north London. To win the trust of the parrot, Jessie’s owner suggested, the firefighters should tell it “I love you.” A fireman scaled a ladder and said the three magic words to Jessie, and she squawked “I love you” back. But the bird then told the fireman to “f--- off,” and launched into a foulmouthed tirade. She eventually flew home of her own accord.
A German attempt to set a record for the world’s longest mini domino run was foiled last week when a fly landed on one of the 600,000 pieces, triggering the chain reaction prematurely. A team of four people had spent two weeks laying out the dominoes, each the size of a fingernail, using tweezers, when the fly sent the dominos tumbling. “As you can imagine,” said event organizer Patrick Sinner, “we were not happy with the situation.” ■
