France has denied a request from President Trump to take back hundreds of ISIS fighters captured in Syria. President Trump on Saturday had tweeted that "the United States is asking Britain, France, Germany, and other European allies to take back over 800 ISIS fighters that we captured in Syria and put them on trial. The alternative is not a good one in that we will be forced to release them." But on Monday, French Justice Minister Nicole Belloubet said that "for the time being we are not changing our policy" and that the country will continue repatriating on a "case-by-case" basis. "At this stage France is not responding to [Trump's] demands," she also said.
