Donald Trump Jr. told the House Intelligence Committee on Wednesday he couldn't discuss a conversation he had with his father this summer because of attorney-client privilege. Neither Trump is an attorney or the other's client, but according to Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), Trump Jr. claimed there was a lawyer in the room during their discussion so it counts. The conversation in question concerned Trump Jr. meeting with Russians during the 2016 campaign. In a statement over the summer, which President Trump reportedly had a hand in drafting, Trump Jr. described the meeting as being short and solely about the adoption of Russian children; it was later revealed Trump Jr. agreed to the meeting because the Russian government was promising compromising information on Hillary Clinton.
